Bulimba Ferry Terminal

View Product Information

The Bulimba Ferry Terminal was given a design upgrade following the 2011 floods that left a number of Brisbane Ferry Terminals in need of refurbishment.

Raylinc supplied various luminaires, including the LED strip lighting and downlights.

Stringent design requirements called for high levels of illumination over the pedestrian areas of the terminal for public safety coupled with low glare to ensure City Cat drivers approaching from the darkness of the river can dock safely.

The strip lighting is a linear luminaire recessed into the architecture that criss-crosses the expanse of the docking walkway.  This was selected for it’s small form factor and high lumen output per metre after extensive modelling in the design. LED downlights, used in the shelter, offer a high lumen output with a 30 degree cut-off angle to minimise glare.

Intelligent luminaire selection has resulted in a completed installation that achieves the desired technical and architectural outcomes for the Bulimba Ferry Terminal.
